Circular #1 - Term 2 2024
Dear Parents
Just a quick touching of bases.
Can you believe we are in week 4 of the term already and well into all our fixtures and exams. The grade 7 classes are in their second week of their ZIMSEC exams and these will be followed their Cambridge Exams then the ATS Shona and Computer exams. A very heavy time ahead for them.
The rest of the school will, as you will know from the school calendar, have their internal exams later in the term which I trust your children will all learn for.
As we all know exams are not everything and must not detract from the ongoing holistic education of your children, but they are a fact of life at this stage and need to be taken seriously.
The sporting and extra-curricular calendar is full as can be expected and we look forward to the many matches in tennis, cricket and volleyball and of course all the swimming galas coming up later in the term. These start with Twin Rivers hosting an Inter-Schools’ gala next Friday.
Then we will have the school play, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” plus an ECD + Infants’ concert on the drama side plus an inter-house quiz and chess tournaments etc which will all be on the calendar and will be highlighted nearer the time.
Infants’ Block
The result of the new roof and verandas is amazing and the block looks and feels completely different now. The classrooms are so much cooler and the verandas make a huge difference.
New Block
This is drawing to a close and it is indeed a magnificent building. I am sure that there will be an opportunity soon for interested parents to take a look around. A huge “well done” to all of those involved in making it happen, particularly Mr Rahman on the Board who spearheaded the project.
All the best to you and your children as we get deeper into the term and I will be in touch again soon.
Kind regards
M. N. MACKENZIE
