Circular 1 - T2 - 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians
Welcome back to our second term of the year – winter term – much loved by some and dreaded by others !
Hopefully we still get the odd rainfall but certainly we will get colder and colder weather moving in so get those winter uniforms out and ready.
External Works around the school
Considerable work has been taking place around the school and soon we will have a state of the art water pumping and reticulation system fully operational.
The grades 1, 2 and 3 toilets are being completely redone and will be excellent when finished.
The small ECD and learners’ pool has now been completely retiled and is looking good, a bit cold for this term but will be in full use in the third term.
All the thorny acacia trees have been taken down in the driveway and the damage that they have caused will gradually be repaired at strategic times.
Thank you for your co-operation as we see all these and more projects to conclusion in the coming months.
Drop-off and Pick-Up Zone
No school has an ideal drop-off and pick-up zone especially at peak times and ours is better than most. I would seriously request you to exercise extreme patience and caution whilst dropping and collecting your children. The last thing anyone wants is an accident.
Afternoon Activities
This is without doubt the busiest term of the year with as many as five or six matches taking place in a single afternoon. If you are able to come and watch your children you would be welcome. Enjoy watching them and the teams that they represent and may your encouragement be in the right spirit for both teams. Obviously we like to win but that is not of paramount importance.
Calendar of Events
This will be with you very shortly and you already have the afternoon activities lists.
Please make sure that your children all attend the compulsory sports and are dressed in the right kit.
As usual there will be no sport this first week unless coaches have specifically notified your child of a practice session.
Project Kurarama
As an attachment, please find a reminder about the most informative meeting for any parent. I highly recommend that as many of you as possible attend the meeting. I believe your eyes will be opened. As can be seen it will be held in the Hartmann House School Hall Thursday 15th May 17:30 – 19:30.
All the best to you and your children this term and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the various matches.
Kind regards
M. N. MACKENZIE
