Infants Gala

Fri, 22 November 2024

The much-anticipated Infant School Swimming Gala 2024 was held on Friday 22 November. As usual, the Grade 1 and 2 children came to impress parents and teachers with newly acquired aqua skills and left no crumbs.

In attendance was the Principal, Mr McKenzie, the Vice Principal, Mrs Dullab as well as teachers and parents of the pupils in Grades 1 & 2. By 8.45 am, the pool area was packed and buzzing with enthusiastic parents, guardians and siblings as they waited for the arrival of the eager swimmers who arrived shortly before 9am.

Egged on by the loud cheers from the incredible crowd the first group of boys from Grade 1 set the competition off, lapping the Noodle and Board Kick race with ease!

The Grade 1 boys race was immediately followed by the Grade 1 girls, Grade 2 boys and Grade 2 girls. This sequence was used in all the race disciplines.

Altogether, there were 24 races across either the width or full length of the main swimming pool. The width races included the board kick, crawl, noodle & board kick breaststroke kick, breaststroke and backstroke. The full length races were: length crawl, breaststroke and butterfly. The children were divided into groups of boys or girls and raced against their classmates.

Mr McKenzie gave short brief to bring the competition to end at approximately 9.45 am after an epic show of talent by the infant school.

We definitely look forward to more exciting competitions in 2025.
